The Caballo Blanco Vineyard is a wonderful collection of 50 year old Carignan vines located in the western hills of inland Mendocino County. Averageing 1.5 tons per acre, these grapes provide this father and son team with one of the greatest expressions of this southern Rhône variety. The grapes are fermented whole berry by native yeast, punched down by hand and pressed in a small basket press to ensure round juicy tannins. This wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered, preserving the lush floral spice that is Caballo Blanco.
