The Fedele Vineyard sits at the eastern edge of the Rutherford Bench on the deep fertile soils of the upper Napa Valley. Larry Bettinelli, long time vineyard manager and part owner of the vineyard, tends the vines with the tenderness and knowledge
of a true veteran. The vines are nearly 30 years old and are naturally balanced in both composition of the fruit and production. As the gentle slope meets the valley floor, the minerals deposit in abundance to produce wines of intense flavor and character. It is precisely this vibrant character that makes the wines of Rutherford renown around the world.
Typical to Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine lifts out of the glass with plum blossom, cherry, mineral, and earthy aromas. The wine is weighty and voluptuous on the palate, with lingering flavors of black currant, cherry, cacao, and coffee. The telltale Rutherford characteristic is the firm but subtle tannins which are often referred to as “dusty.” We leave this single site example of Cabernet Sauvignon unfined and unfiltered to highlight this unique terroir.
